Resort Report 2013: Missoni, Just Cavalli, Emporio Armani, Moschino Cheap & Chic

We're just about a third of the way through the 2013 Resort season. Here's the lastest, plus check out previous recaps here and here.

Missoni has suffered somewhat from jumbled styling and overly clashing colorful prints for a few seasons, so it was refreshing to see a more reined in collection for Resort. Cuts were less bohemian too, allowing for a number of figure flattering looks that showed off Angela Missoni’s abstract prints which were inspired by Chinese porcelain and British pottery.

Sure there were lots of animal prints in this season’s Just Cavalli collection, inspired by a trip to India, and many of the garments were high on skin exposure, but silhouettes were streamlined and roomy, giving a sportier than usual feel to the collection.

Giorgio Armani went with light neutral hues, laid-back silhouettes, and staple separates for his Resort collection this season. Standouts included wide trousers and double-breasted jackets.

Rossella Jardini once again found herself inspired by Great Britain, which this season translated itself both literally – as with a British flag print – and figuratively with countryside themed prints.
