When it comes to ground-breaking beauty trends, resort is not the place to look. With scaled down presentations and lookbooks in place of big budget shows, the spotlight is definitely on the collection. That said, it’s often a great time to see which trends have really penetrated from last season and are set to stick around through Spring 2013. Here are a few of our favorites:

Designers such as Alexander Wang, left, Just Cavalli, and Acne all showed their take on modern grunge so we can definitely expect more next season.

After seasons of vampy purples, bright oranges, and pop art pinks, red lips are back and there’s a shade for everyone. For a brighter more youthful take on the trend, opt for an orange-red, glossy color such as this one at L’Wren Scott, left, but for a more mature version, look for a deeper matte shade that was shown at collections such as Givenchy and No 21.
