CNC Costume National Explores the Art of the Self Shot for Fall 2012 [VIDEO] (Forum Buzz)

For the Fall 2012 C’N’C Costume National ad campaign, photographer Tung Walsh had models Hailey Gates and Yuri Pleskun explore the art of the "self pic." We all know the self pic well by now. Characterized by often-grainy mirrored reflections and the glowing orbs of camera flashes that do or do not obscure the photographer’s face, self shots abound on Facebook, Twitter, and every other social media outlet. We’ve all attempted (and failed more often than not) to take flattering self pics at one point or another. So, C’N’C’s ode to the self pic is a bit tongue-in-cheek, and kind of the perfect concept for a “less serious” diffusion line to attempt.

“I'm absolutely loving the concept of self shots in mirrors. Well done!” Valentine27 posted.

In the making of the campaign video, the photographer reveals that the glowing flashes in the photos aim not to conceal but to reveal. When the photos are placed together, the flashes combine to reveal the C’N’C logo. Check out the making of video, and the logo reveal video below.
