The DSquared2 boys are putting their own spin on the “Back to School” theme with models Daphne Groeneveld, Bette Franke, Frida Aisen, Simon van Meervenne, Ralf Javoiss, and Liuk Bass posing in a classroom setting to advertise the Fall 2012 collection. Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott photographed the campaign, with art direction by Giovanni Bianco, styling by Katie Grand, hair by Paul Hanlon, and makeup by Charlotte Tilbury.
DSquared2 has a penchant for being over-the-top and borderline garish at times, but this campaign is a good look for the brand. “This is amaaaazing!” anlabe32 posted. “This fits the collection and the mood of the show so well, and I love the soft colors as well.”
Psylocke commented, “This looks quite cute. I like that they didn't go too overboard with the high school/prom theme from the runway show, this is different but very much DSquared. The model cast is nice and fits the theme, too,” she added.
Who knows if the apparel will sell well in stores, but the campaign has passed inspection in the Fashion Spot forums with flying colors. So, at least there’s a win in there somewhere.
