Model of the moment Ollie Henderson is black and white and babelicious all over as the face of Shakuhachi for its Summer 2013 collection ‘The Young Ones’. The inimitably cool 21-year-old has been booking lookbooks like nobody’s business lately after opening, closing and even covering shows for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, and here she is again showing us why she’s the girl every other girl wants to be.
A ballsy blend of luxe athleticism and Fear and Loathing florals, ‘The Young Ones’ features just enough cropped tops and daring side splits to show off a killer body while still keeping it classy. The primarily monochromatic colour palette dips into modest taupes and light pastel purples, but in true Shakuhachi style, it doesn’t stay too safe for long. The latter half of the collection is a trip through the orient, the 80s, and Route 66 with silky florals, mesh details and bright Hawaiian prints, but each piece manages to look distinctly modern thanks to clever tailoring and luxe materials.
