End the Bed Head

This morning I woke up, feeling well rested and like the world was my oyster. After going about my business I finally got a look of myself in the mirror. What I saw was not pretty nor what I expected to see when I walked into the bathroom. I had been attacked by the horrible bed head monster. After freaking out a bit over the mess of hair that was piled on top of my head I went into work mode to defuse this problem. Bed head also seems to occur when you're really in a rush and need to get out of the house. I don't know why this is but the hair gods say it is so... Here are a few tips and tricks that will put an end to all your bed head problems.

If you're really in a rush then seriously just tie your hair up. Find a cute scrunchie, head band or SOMETHING of the sort depending on your personal preference and throw it up. This will hide it until you have time to actually sort the problem. You can tie it up in a nice bun, ponytail or braid and it should fix your problem temporarily. Hats can also be your friend when you're having a bad hair day. If you have a cute knitted boho style hat you can put your hair into that and it will look like a fashion statement.

You have a little bit more time? Then bust out the good ol' hair straightener or curling iron and get to resetting your hair back to its original state. Or work with the messy style and accentuate it and make it look like it was on purpose.

The best way to completely get rid of bed head though is to just shower. Getting your hair wet will work out all the messy kinks and will return your hair to its natural position. If you don't want to take a full shower then just washing it in the sink do the trick just as well.

You can never completely avoid bed head but there are some measures you can take to help prevent it as best you can. First don't go to sleep with wet hair. This is just asking to wake up and look like a mess. If you're a guy or gal who prefers to shower at night then make sure your hair is completely dry before hopping under the sheets. Damp hair is very impressionable and you don't want to have to wake up in the morning and take another shower.

I also heard satin pillow cases are good for getting rid of bedhead. The satin will let your hair breath and glide across it without pulling it. Also satin pillow cases reduce split ends. So it's like killing two birds with one stone.

Hope this helps a bit and good luck to all your future mornings!
