Marie Piovesan, Marte Mei Van Haaster and Some Big Hats in Marc Jacobs Fall 2012 Campaign (Forum Buzz)

Forum members often complain that they’re bored with Marc Jacobs using Juergen Teller season after season to create his ad campaign imagery. We always get the same unflattering, overexposed lighting. We see that aesthetic again in the Fall 2012 ad campaign images, but somehow we don’t mind it so much this time. Teller photographed models Marie Piovesan and Marte Mei Van Haaster in the quirky oversized hats, clothes, and shoes that we saw come down the runway.

“Juergen's work for Marc always takes a bit of time to grow on me but this is instant love! Can't wait for more!” Melancholybaby exclaimed.

“I really like this so far,” GivenchyHomme agreed. “The mood is fantastic and the clothes are actually visible and somewhat attractive looking for once.”

There’s also something almost haunting about these images. Sure, the combination of the makeup and the lighting makes the models look almost corpse-like, but the darker mood suits the collection and the brightly colored clothes keep the images from being too macabre. For Fall 2012, Juergen Teller and Marc Jacobs somehow managed to strike the right balance.
