Prepare Your Hair For Your Summer Wedding

April...May...June..BAM!! Congratulations, you’re getting married...or you’re in the bridal party or you are a guest! But either way, chances are if you’re reading this article, you’re one of the three and trying to find creative ways to do your hair. Summer weddings are wonderful for many reasons but when it comes to ones tresses during this time of year, several things have to be considered. If the wedding is outdoors, climate can be tricky. Is it sticky-humid-clammy-or anything that remotely makes your hair fry into the frizzies upon ceremony arrival? Are you tying the knot during hurricane season at a destination wedding where rain is a possibility? If you’re not familiar with the weather conditions in another country you’ve never been to or haven’t been to at that time of year, get familiar with it and do it quick! Spending only a day or two in your location will give you the best idea on how your hair can handle the temperature so be sure to give yourself enough time before the big day to sit with a hairstylist who can put your hair in position it will stay in through heat, wind and lotsa lotsa dancing.

As a bride to be, consider your headdress. Whatever you decide to do with your hair has to accommodate your veil, tiara, flowers and anything else you have in mind. If you decide to remove your veil after the ceremony, ensure your hairstyle will withstand the removal and still look hot on its own. Sticking a gorgeous flower in it always adds a romantic tropical twist and it’s easy as pie to do yourself or with the hand of a bridal party member.

My personal favorite look on any wedding day, is an updo. I love to see the face of the bride, her expressions; her skin is glowing on that day from sheer joy and great makeup, why not show it all?

If your face shape is not complimentary to an all up-do, leaving some curls at the side of your head is a timeless classic that can be pulled off by almost anyone. If you are attempting to do this yourself however, remember to secure it perfectly with bobby pins and spray the hair enough to stay yet do not appear too stiff.

As a bridesmaid or maid of honor, the bride may want a specific look for all members but if you have the freedom to find your own hairstyle, the forehead braid is a perfect look that goes with any type of formal attire.

Something a little fancier and complex may require the help of a professional stylist but it will be well worth the peace of mind to get it right the first time.

A pretty flower in the hair lends spice to an otherwise simple hairstyle. From day to evening, from work to wedding, from plain to formal, one small flower accessory can be exactly what you need to bring your dress to life.

A gorgeous neck piece will enhance any look if the hair is completely pulled away from the face. No veil, no hair accessories, just a nice clean look with diamonds to match; in this case with the hair, sometimes less is more. You are able to accessorize more with a simpler do.
