Kristen Stewart Pulls Off Some Serious Couture for Vanity Fair

If Kristen Stewart's been growing on you, the just-released photos from her July Vanity Fair cover shoot won't disappoint. Jessica Diehl styled the actress in fantasy-grade couture and blinding jewels, and then the Vanity Fair team proceeded to park Stewart and photographer Mario Testino in some of Paris' most opulent, historical landmarks.

In the accompanying interview, the actress takes issue with critics that complain about her inability to pull off some of her high-fashion red carpet looks:

“I get some serious shit about it. I’m not embarrassed about it. I’m proud of it. If I took perfect pictures all the time, the people standing in the room with me, or on the carpet, would think, What an actress! What a faker! That thought embarrasses me so much that I look like shit in half my photos, and I don’t give a fuck. What matters to me is that the people in the room leave and say, ‘She was cool. She had a good time. She was honest.’ I don’t care about the voracious, starving shit eaters who want to turn truth into shit. Not that you can say that in Vanity Fair!”

Point taken, KStew! But to be fair, the red carpet is a space of extreme scrutiny, and sometimes, you look as if you're positively drowning in your Balenciaga.

That being said, Stewart wears the bejeesus out of the couture in the Vanity Fair spread. The cover notwithstanding (I'm not a fan of the chin-tilt here, and the actress is pretty consistently bad at neck/jaw configuration on cover shots), the photos have made me realize that there's something missing from my closet — nay, my life! A ballgown.
