We had the chance to interview French hairstylist Alexia Artystik. This creative and amazingly talented stylist is one that has spunk, personality and a passion for hair. Her unique and artistic style cannot be denied with her vibrant use of colors and radical cuts. Read the interview to find out more about this young and smashing woman!

Can you describe your style of hairdressing to us?

I would have to define my personal style of cutting hair as very edgy and artistic.

What is your favourite style to work with?

I absolutely adore working with models who have long hair. Also creating new hairpieces that lend themselves to inventing new styles is a lot of fun.

What is one moment in your life that really stands out as a career changing moment? Why this particular moment?

The moment that changed my life as a hairdresser is when I got the chance to be represented by a hairstyling team in France. The owner of the salon let me train with her in Paris and all because of her my faith in French hairstyling has been restored.

Why did you choose this profession?

I have had a passion for hair since I was just a little kid. I was always cutting my Barbie's hair when I was younger and as I grew up I began to develop my own artistic style and grew to love it, so I made it my career.

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you while cutting someone else's hair?

Looking back... I don't think anything funny has ever happened to me while cutting someone else's hair...

Where do you draw most of your inspiration from?

I draw inspiration from amazing people like Leatitia Guenaou, the ambassador Hairstylist for L'Oreal France and Wilfried Karloff. Other stylists that inspire me are the team at Vidal Sasson and the creations of Charlie le Mindu.

What has been your favourite era in hair styling?

The era that I like the most is that "chic glamour" look with big, sensual curls. Although it's simple, it gives off an air of class and is so sexy. I love it.

What is your favourite part of being a stylist?

My favourite part about being a stylist is the ability to constantly create new hairstyles and giving an unforgettable experience to each client.

Do you have any tips to prevent/overcome bad hair cuts?

Once you're in the salon forget about everything and just think about your hair. A smile can help a creation come a long away. So just sit back, relax and smile!

Last but not least: Where can people find you?
