Goodbye Static

If there is one thing about winter that really grinds my gears, it is static. I love everything else about it like movies and hot chocolate, the warm (yet hideous) winter sweaters, having rosy cheeks and noses... but I can't stand when I pull off my hat and my hair feels the need to cling to everything and anything within reach. I know every single girl out there has had this problem at least ONCE in their life.

Preventing static is actually quite simple... I wish I had have read up about it earlier and avoided many horrible winter hair days, but better late then never in my opinion.

The reason why your hair has static is because it is too dry. Think of it as being thirsty and you need to quench it's thirst. The first thing you need to do is go to the store and get a hydrating shampoo and condition that work with your hair. If you feel lost or unsure about which one is a hydrating shampoo, ask your local pharmacist they can set you in the right direction.

Do you blow dry your hair? If you do you might want to stop, or at least use the "cool" setting. Blow driers tend to be one of the worst things you can do to your hair if you're not using it properly, especially in the winter.

This next tip is a bit weirder, but trust me it works and it takes less than 2 minutes. Run a dryer sheet through your hair. I don't know who thought of this, but they were genius. This is a fast and practical way to rid the static from your hair. It's a good quick fix to your problem, and you can see results immediately.

Another quick fix that lasts temporarily is hand lotion. Put a little bit of lotion in your hands, rub them together and then gently comb your fingers through your hair. This is a great fix that should last you a couple hours if you're in dire need. The only thing I warn you about is please don't put too much or else your hair will look greasy, and no one wants that.
