The Fashionable Hairstyles in Your City

A few years ago while scanning a fashion magazine a fresh idea caught my eye. For the first time I saw a section on the most requested hairstyles. This timely topic wasn't at all surprising because many people want to know what's in vogue for important aspects of personal appearance. But they didn't only show pictures of famous people like what you always see. The unique thing about the short piece was that instead of stating what was hip nationally, they revealed up-to-date details on some local scenes, i.e., several big cities in America.

Everyone can get bored easily then want the latest and greatest haircuts. But while leafing through a magazine or surfing online for something that commands your attention, you can inadvertently forget to focus on your hometown. The unaddressed problem with the average picture or news source on what's hot now is that it's not location specific and consequently could be irrelevant. What's definitely "in" for your country could possibly be "out" for your city. You might be remarkably surprised at how unusually different the trends can be in other locations. Do you really care what everyone else is doing with their looks thousands of miles away from where you live?

It is conventional now for anyone getting a snip to enter their salon with a color photograph in hand showing the next style they want. More often than not it's a pretty image of a popular actress working in New York or Los Angeles. But if you don't live in NY or LA, are you sure it's trendy in your area? Good websites and widely circulated magazines generally don't provide info on the local scene. They understandably focus on the bigger picture because they have a national audience. They just don't have the time or resources to phone every beauty shop in the nation. The only people who always know what's fashionable for your city at the moment, are, of course, the hairdressers who actually did the cutting.

If you're lucky, a competent local reporter spoke to them when she did her beauty news report, but even if she covered the topic properly, will you be able to find it before your next cut? In typical large cities there might be one or two reports a year on local hairstyles trends; so even if there is one that is accessible when you need it, you don't know if it will be out of date. What's the simple solution for this common problem?

Before printing out a portrait or booking your next appointment, search your local paper's website for what's most popular. If there's nothing available, or it's not recent, call your salon and speak with a top stylist who does a lot of work. Ask what's in fashion there today; then search the internet. The stylist may even give you the names of stars with that hairstyle, and that can make your beauty search lightning fast. Nowadays you can usually find a celebrity's newest cut online almost immediately after it has been created. Paparazzi have literally snapped the biggest names as soon as they leave the salon; those digital images get uploaded onto the internet shortly afterwards.

BeautifulHairstyles.com has made new celebrity photos of outstanding styles available to the public for many years. The site's basic navigation format is by year, so you can easily access very recent looks. For example, you can review the Hairstyles 2012 page to learn the fashion forecast and developing trends.
