What do Olivia Munn and Guillermo Diaz have in common? A lovely lady in an aqua python print halter dress as arm candy. At Marie Claire’s Hollywood Dinner, Leslie Mann was arm-in-arm with Munn in a Monique Lhuillier dress in an eye-catching, oversized scale print. She styled the pocketed frock with silver pumps and soft waves. Kerry Washington wore a similar look at the Los Angeles Confidential Magazine 10th Anniversary celebration. She rocked a turquoise python print Gucci minidress with strappy black sandals and her always-flawless makeup.

You might not expect Lena Dunham, the creator of a raw HBO series, and Sarah Hyland, the wholesome teen star of Modern Family to appear on the red carpet in matching looks, but the bows don’t lie. The Girls creator got girly at the This is 40 premiere in a bright red V-neck dress with pleats and bow details at the waist. A coordinating pop of red lips and criss-cross pumps finished her vintage-inspired look. Meanwhile, Hyland looked like a ballerina in a pink satin Erin Fetherston dress with gold Guiseppe Zanotti heels and a topknot at the Trevor Live event honoring Katy Perry.

Purple—a long-forgotten color on the red carpet—is making a comeback, it seems. Julie Bowen sparkled in an all-over sequined purple gown by Naeem Khan at the Baby2Baby Gala. The dolman sleeve, plunging V-neck and defined high waist flattered the Modern Family actress, and she styled the flashy dress with a pretty updo and simple black clutch. Berenice Marlohe is just as passionate about purple. At the Australian premiere of Skyfall, she wore a gown in a deep eggplant hue with the same plunging V-neck and glittery embellishments. Her J. Mendel gown featured a sheer bodice with a graduated color effect, and the Bond girl contrasted the eye-catching shade with turquoise earrings.
