Are you the kind of girl who’ll sneakily bag a bargain at Primark and pray that nobody figures out where you actually bought your outfit? Or, perhaps you’re quite partial to slipping the odd piece of Florence and Fred into your basket as you dash through Tesco where really you should just be doing your weekly grocery shopping? As fashion lovers who drool over the catwalks and lust after couture pieces, are we becoming a nation of fashion snobs who are embarrassed to admit that we, too, love a bit of extremely cheap fast fashion? (Despite the fact that its poor quality means that it’s only suitable to be worn for a season.) Quite possibly so, and although we’re often less hasty to reveal where we snapped up our bargain, it’s the fast fashion retailers’ increasing sales figures which shout out the truth.
Ever heard of Matalan?
Matalan is just one of Britain’s most famous fast fashion chains which stocks womens, mens, childrens, and homeware ranges at incredibly low prices. Unlike the powerful Primark stores, however, Matalan tends to only have larger stores that are located just outside of town centres, as well as its online store (a must in this day and age). In a bid to attract more customers, they are rolling out a cool new marketing plan: it was announced yesterday that they are partnering with ITV and launching a new weekly online fashion TV show.
Matalan’s Online Fashion TV Show
The new show will be aired on itv.com and Matalan.co.uk, and will be hosted by Closer magazine’s Style Editor Kat Byrne and streamed on the magazine’s website.
Celebs in Matalan
In the past, Matalan has had the odd celebrity collaboration such as reality TV star Katie Price’s homeware range as well as quite a few famous people admitting to shopping there or simply being photographed leaving a store. The X Factor judge Tulisa famously wore a Matalan dress to the Brit Awards show (above). The point is, if Matalan is good enough for celebrities, then it’s definitely worth a visit! We’re already sure that its new TV show will twist our arms into making a purchase too.
