It’s always great when Carmen Kass lands a magazine cover, because when she’s given the opportunity she really knows how to turn it on and remind us of how awesome she is. Vogue Mexico’s September issue cover (and an accompanying editorial) shot by Koray Birand, is a perfect example of what Carmen can do. The styling isn’t particularly noteworthy (though she is outfitted in a Dior leather jacket and Costume National skirt), and the hair and makeup are relatively simple as well, but Carmen looks fierce, to put it in Top Model terms. She’s giving great face with that penetrating stare and her pose clearly telegraphs that she’s in charge.
Forum members were pleasantly surprised to see Carmen on the cover. Jmrmartinho wrote, “I was hoping for Coco Rocha but this is a super nice surprise! Carmen is someone you can always count for a great result. The photographer did a great job adjusting the background with her and the styling is working.”
“So STRONG!!! Love it!” Bertrando3 exclaimed. He is right.
“Very cool!” justaguy commented. “Great cover and Carmen looks amazing. Not totally in love with the styling, but I do love the 90s vibe.”
Hear that magazines? We love Carmen, so please hire her. She is awesome and we want to see more of her.
