Dree Hemingway and ManiaMania are a match made in heaven. The model/flowerchild this time shines as the face of the visionary jewellery label’s campaign for The Astral Plane, lensed by David Mandelberg amidst a surrealist and ambiguously located dunescape dense with all things dreamy plus a whole ton of black body paint.
Tamila Purvis and Melanie Kamsler are fast gaining a global following for their beautiful, moody, and almost otherworldly creations, forged from materials including molten brass, rough, faceted crystals, and soft suede elements. Each piece has a handmade original look that manages to make each ethereal campaign seem dreamier than the next, which is probably a good thing considering this particular one draws inspiration directly from dreams. More specifically, The Astral Plane pays home to advocates of psychic and spiritual development such as Carl Jung and The Theosophical Socieity, an organisation formed in 1875 to advance the spiritual principles and search for Truth.
The collection sees the inspiration of warped symbols and telepathic visions in molten brass pendants, marbled stones and an armouresque oversized tassle piece named the Cosmos choker. Like usual there are a few reinterpreted ManiaMania classics dispersed throughout, including the coveted Immortals and Eternal rings. See more of the dreamy shoot below and see if you don’t too want to paint yourself with black body paint and writhe around in some dunes.
