Recipients for NEWGEN MEN Announced

Shaun Samson Fall 2012The British Fashion Council (BFC) has exclusively revealed exactly which emerging menswear fashion designers have been lucky enough to receive NEWGEN support this A/W 13. So, get ready to see if any of your favourites (i.e. those who you’ve secretly been tipping for great things!) have made it to the final cut. The NEWGEN MEN results, sponsored by Topshop, are as follows: Catwalk Sponsorship is going to Lee Roach, Shaun Samson, and SiblingMartine Rose and Matthew Miller are the lucky recipients of Presentation Sponsorship; Exhibition Sponsorship goes to Bunney and William Richard Green.

Who Chose the Recipients?
The lucky winners were chosen by a strong committee of important fashion industry supporters and players, such as Ben Banks of Selfridges, Fashion East, and leading fashion magazine, Dazed and Confused.

What Will They Receive?
As with all NEWGEN recipients, the winners are set to receive extensive business support as well as being granted the opportunity to showcase their collections at London Collections: Men, January 7-9, 2013.

When Was it Founded?
This season actually sees four different NEWGEN MEN recipients taking to the catwalk, which is the most ever since the initiative began, proving how successful the scheme is. In fact, the NEWGEN MEN initiative only began in September 2009, which replaced Topshop and Fashion Fringe’s MEN initiative. Since being founded, it's successfully nurtured the menswear fashion designers James Long, J.W. Anderson, and Christopher Shannon, all of whom have received an army of success over the last year in particular (who doesn’t love J.W. Anderson and his Topshop collabs?).
