You would think that a celebration of Chanel Fine Jewelry's 80th anniversary of the 'Bijoux de Diamants' collection created by Gabrielle Chanel, in which celebrities show up wearing Chanel would be full of competitors for Look of the Day and Best Dressed lists, but you would be wrong. Somehow, nearly every Chanel-wearing celebrity who showed up at this party missed the mark style-wise. Here’s what they wore, and what forum members had to say about it.

Blake Lively showed up looking bland in a dress from Chanel’s Fall 2012 Haute Couture collection. “It's not a very nice dress,” Aquila commented. “It looks cheap and it doesn't flatter her.”
Diane Kruger wore a dress from Chanel’s latest collection for Spring 2013 that she styled with black pumps and a yellow clutch. Despite usually being a fashion favorite, she missed the mark in this shapeless mini-dress. “That dress basically looks like a sack. I hate it!” casaanova exclaimed.
“She's always the first to wear the latest Chanel collections,” xoxoadore commented. “I personally don't like that dress at all! It does nothing to show off or accentuate her amazing figure.”

Alexa Chung picked a girlish look from Chanel’s Cruise 2013 collection. LolaSvelt posted, “Alexa Chung definitely looks the best and that is something I thought I'd never say considering Diane Kruger and Rose Byrne attended the same event.”
HeatherAnne disagreed: “Alexa looked creepy as hell to me, I'm over her woman-child thing, she's almost 30 isn't she? There are no winners here,” she added.
Rose Byrne went for subdued sheer black in Chanel Haute Couture Fall 2012. Lvstratus called the look “one of the few that I liked at the Chanel event! The purse is great.”

Elle Fanning went the black velvet route in Chanel Haute Couture Fall 2012. “She looks straight out of the Victorian era here, so I kinda like it for that reason cause she looks cute and it's different,” Melly5525 posted.
Rinko Kikuchi had one of the more successful looks of the night in a dress from Chanel’s Spring 2012 Haute Couture collection. “She's so adorable, the dress looks really cute paired with the boots,” Melly5525 thought.
