There’s no hiding the fact that Lana Del Rey has become the new face of the Swedish retailer H&M, as we’ve already seen posters from its recent ad campaign plastered just about everywhere in London’s shopping districts. That’s without even mentioning the accompanying TV commercial featuring the lady her herself, dressed to kill, and singing the hypnotic new Blue Velvet song.
This week, H&M has revealed more images from its A/W12-13 collection, by Norwegian photographer Sølve Sundsbø, and let’s be honest, the images have already got us wanting to hit those shops! Obviously aided by Lana Del Rey’s era evocative style, there’s a definite vintage feel surrounding the collection, and the looks have been so cleverly put together that they've made us realise just how good you can look on a shoestring.
A car was used as the focal point of the shoot, as Lana presents H&M’s finest winter knits, and leather look trousers. It’s hard to believe that the furry gilet above is just £19.99, and it’s the perfect piece to help you to avoid frumpy winter jumpers and instead make your winter wardrobe appear more fashion forward.
Bond Girl Style?
Perhaps it’s no coincidence that Lana undeniably emulates a vintage Bond girl in part of the shoot, as of course, it’s almost time for a new James Bond movie. Dressed in leather trousers and a tight fitting, high neck jacket, accessorised with her trademark beehive, she’s the epitome of Bond girl cool (below).
Possible Faces of H&M
The best part of any H&M collaboration is knowing that all of the looks are easily affordable, and although we’re loving the fact that über stylish Del Rey is currenty H&M’s cover girl, we couldn’t help but begin to wonder which Brit celebs we’d like to see adorning the brand. For instance, when professionally styled, Cheryl Cole is one celeb who can pull off an array of looks, and her influence upon the UK market knows no limits, so, she could be a fab choice.
