Well, honestly nothing. It's just a long messy braid. But somehow all the elements-just how high it was on her head, the exact amount of messiness that kept it from looking too young for her, the strategic unevenness of the plaiting work-came together to create something epic. I really feel it has a lot to do with the fact that it's purposely not perfect. There's a very calculated bit of quirkiness there. And it's stunning. Truly.
