Jessica Alba's top hairstyles

Jessica Alba Jessica Alba cites a hairstyle she rocked in 2006 as one of her favorites to date.

The 33-year-old actress has discussed the favourite looks she's worn on the red carpet over the years. One of those that made the cut was the messy chignon she sported at the 78th Academy Awards in 2006. Although it may have looked hastily put together, a great deal of work went into the up-do.

"When I was younger, I used to love trying out new hair styles, and at the 78th Annual Academy Awards I wore this spiralling chignon, which was actually pretty cool and had a lot of volume!" she told neverunderdressed.com. "It easily took close to two hours and a whole can of hairspray to finish. It had to last the whole evening as I was presenting with Eric Bana - who was such a gentleman!"

At last year's Golden Globe Awards, Jessica wore a peach fishtail gown by Oscar de la Renta. She accessorised with a flowing mane of perfectly wavy hair, a style she is fiercely proud of.

"I think the look was really inspired by the old school, glamorous beauty icons of yesterday, such as Veronica Lake, and it probably took around an hour altogether to create," she explained. "A lot of people made the comment on my hairstyle teaming perfectly with the dress, which was a fishtail gown in a peach colour - I felt so confident and radiant, just like I had walked straight out of a black and white movie into technicolour!"

The star doesn't always spend hours over her tresses. At the 2013 Producers Guild Awards she went for a laidback beach vibe, allowing her ombre locks to tumble around her shoulders. It's another style she loved because it was so low-key she could wear a bright pink lipstick and not feel over dressed.
