Best DIY Hairstyles for Date Night

You have a hot date for tonight and you're all set to dress to kill. But if you want to take your look up a notch, why not try these amazing DIY hairstyles that he won't be able t take his eyes off of? Knotted Updo

All that this super easy hairstyle is all about, is tying your hair up in knots and securing it with a couple of bobby pins. The style can be done in a matter of minutes! Here goes:

Step 1 - Divide your hair into two separate sections and pull each section into a low pigtail.

Step 2 - Further divide each side into two pieces, and tie as many knots as you can. This will depend on how long your hair is. Pull the pieces upwards as you are tying the knots.

Step 3 - Use your fingers to loosen up each knot before you pin it up on your head. This will make your hair appear thicker and more voluminous.

Step 4 - Secure it with as many bobby pins as you need. Use a light hairspray a couple of inches away from your hair to set it in place.

Step 5 - Adorn it with tiny butterfly or flower hair clips. Beachy-Bohemian Waves

This hairstyle isn't just date-worthy. It's also perfect if you have a summer wedding to attend to or are going for brunch. All you need are some hair pins, fresh flowers (optional), volumizing mousse, a heat-protect hair serum, a strong hold hairspray, a curling iron and you're sorted! Here's how:

Step 1 - Prep your hair by applying a heat-protect hair serum generously all over your hair. This will give it body and shape and protect it from the harsh heat of the curling tongs.

Step 2 - Section your hair from behind your ears on top of your head with a clip.

Step 3 - Starting at the part nearest to your face, take a section that is about 1.5 inches thick and wind your hair around the curling iron as you point it vertically to the direction of the floor. Be sure not to curl it all the way to the ends.

Step 4 - Hold the hair on the curing iron for about 15-20 seconds and release. A lovely wave will have formed. Repeat with the remaining hair of that section, making sure to alternate the direction you curl it in each time, so that it doesn't look too uniform. Spray with a strong hold hairspray.

Step 5 - Begin next, with the hair that you pinned on the top of your head. Curl the two front sections away from your face so that it gives it volume and depth. If you have bangs, don't curl them, but let them fall naturally away from your face, for a softer look. Spray this portion with hair spray too.

Step 6 - If you choose to, you can take a couple of uneven sections and pin them in different places with a bobby pin for a look that has more finesse. Classic Halo Braid

If you're a braid-lover, chances are that you'll fall in love with this DIY halo braid hairstyle idea! This girly-do is great for a date or an evening out with friends. All you need is a curling iron, a strong hold hairspray, and some bobby pins. Here goes:

Step 1 - Make sections of your hair (refer to earlier DIY hairstyle idea) and use the curling iron to create soft ringlets all around your hair. When you're done with all your hair, spray it with the hairspray to set the curls and hold them in place.

Step 2 - Then to create the halo braid, take a section of hair from the front of your face and twist it back just a bit. Set it in place with a bobby pin. Take another section just below the one you have just pinned back, twist it and pin it over the first section of hair. Continue this twisting and pinning of your hair until you have reached the back of your head. Pin your hair over the bobby pins to ensure that they are properly concealed and have an overall neat finish.

Step 3 - When you have finished pinning one side, start with the next, doing exactly all of step 2 for the opposite portion of your hair. As soon as you reach the part of your head where your first braid is, twist both braids one over the other to join them and pin them in place. You're done! 60s Style Bouffant

This glamorous hairdo is reminiscent of the 60s and is sure to make your date sit up and take notice! What you'll need is a backcombing brush, hairspray, a sectioning comb, curling iron, clips and bobby pins. Here's how:

Step 1 - Make the parting of your hair. From the top of your head, section a portion about 2 inches thick, and lift it up. Use a backcombing brush to backcomb it until it gets the body it needs. Carefully layer it back onto the base of your hair. Spritz with hairspray for it to stay in place.

Step 2- Take the section of your hair from the front (your bands) and secure it onto one side of your head with the help of a few bobby pins. If you have asymmetrical bangs, choose the side of your ace that it falls on.

Step 3 - Use bobby pins to secure the section of your hair. If you don't have a fringe all you have to do is pull one section of your hair to the side and secure it with a bobby pin too. This should work too.

Step 4 - Use your curling iron and add a couple of big curls throughout the ends of your hair. Start the curls from the mid-length of your hair so that it gets that vintage look you want. And you're all set!
