Although it’s a fictional comedy show which peaked during the nineties, the British hit Absolutely Fabulous, which pokes fun at fashion industry insiders, is still a firm favourite amongst not only the general British public but also those working within the fashion industry. Fans include Kate Moss and Stella McCartney, who have both previously jumped at the opportunity to make guest appearances. Kate Moss once reportedly explained that she loves the show so much as she can see similarities between the lives of its characters and her own.
The Fashion-Loving Characters
If you’ve never heard of the show, it features two main characters Patsy and Eddy, played by British Actress Joanna Lumley, and British comedienne, Jennifer Saunders. They live in the affluent Holland Park area of London and work within the fashion industry where they are best known for wearing the wackiest fashion trends around, as well as overindulging in the sociable alcohol fuelled side of the industry.
A Special Olympic Episode
Every now and then, the show makes a comeback with a few one-off episodes and we are excited to announce that in conjunction with the upcoming Olympic games, the girls have made a special episode around the idea that Eddy forgets that the Olympics are even taking place in London (if only that was possible!) until she realizes that it’s a great opportunity to meet some of her favourite idols. So far, special guests have been billed as Stella McCartney, Dame Kelly Holmes (former Olympic medal winner), and Dame Tanni Grey Thompson.
As the fashion pack is already waiting in anticipation for the show, which is set to air on July 23, to see what outfits the girls will wear.
