Lee Pace Talks GOLDEN AGE Facial Hair, TWILIGHT & More - Broadway World

Stage and screen star Lee Pace reveals his annoyance with facial hair - mutton chops, specifically - as part of his role in Terrence McNally's THE GOLDEN AGE, as well as thoughts on his part in TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN and more in a new exercise-centric interview.

Pace tells James Marshall on GQ.com's JOGGING WITH JAMES, "It's my last day of doing this play [THE GOLDEN AGE]. I can't wait for these to go!" while tugging his scraggly, period-apropos mutton chops. "My hair's really long right now. I feel like a bum when my hair gets long."

When asked about apparently preferring theatre to film and TV given his continual penchant for the stage, Pace enthusiastically states, "I don't know - I just like to work!"

He says, "There is nothing better than doing a play in New York. It becomes, like, a really interesting chapter in your life."

As far as acting in general goes, though, Pace calls it, "A weird job - a really weird job."

Pace also comments on his character in Steven Spielberg's LINCOLN, as well as his involvement in the TWILIGHT franchise in the jogging-accented chat.

As far as die-hard TWILIGHT fans showing up at stage doors, Pace says, "Well, you know, a lot of them come to the play - which is nice; really nice."

He adds, "I just appreciate that TWILIGHT really does bring a Community of people together."

Manhattan Theatre Club's THE GOLDEN AGE opened Off-Broadway at City Center late last year. Pace has previously appeared onstage in New York in THE CREDEAUX CANVAS, THE FOURTH SISTER, SMALL TRAGEDY, GUARDIANS and THE NORMAL HEART, among others.
