The middle-parting hairstyle has been popular for quite some time, making up one of the most chic and fuss-free hairstyle for females. Yet interestingly, K-Pop has succeeded surprisingly well in introducing the rather effeminate hairstyle to guys.

At first sight, it might seem really strange and odd for men to sport a center-parting hairdo. It seems a little nerdy and something only the most studious of one's classmates may attempt, along with a great deal of hair gel slapped to keep the hair neat and slick. Also, it may be perceived by some as rather old fashioned and not too tasteful.

In recent times, this is a hairstyle that is easily associated with North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un, of whom has in fact recently imposed a compulsory rule for fellow citizens to follow his middle-parting hairstyle.

Without a doubt, this is not a hairdo that everyone can appreciate and deem fashionable. It is hence, pretty much like an acquired taste, just hairstyle-wise.

The seemingly peculiar hairdo particularly complements GD's eccentric and colorful fashion sense. As a whole, the hairstyle makes a strong style statement, and adds personality to G-Dragon's already interesting character.

SHINee's Key wears the middle-parting hairdo on complete opposites of hair colors - both black and blonde, along with waves - creating a rather smart and stylish appearance.

Countless idols in the K-Industry have also been spotted in this hairstyle.

Steadily, the middle-parting hairstyle has also seen a rise in its appearance in popular K-Pop group members.

As fans wait patiently for the highly anticipated official comeback of EXO, it also brings to mind the middle-parting hair spotted several times on Chinese member Luhan. Most recently worn during their showcase of Overdose in China, Luhan's bright personality goes well with the rather adorable center-parting hairdo.

Perhaps hairstyles done in the manner of a side-part is becoming too mainstream?
