The award-winning girl of the moment styled her semi-shaved crop with a punky finish and an elegant headband. An 18-karat one. Well you would, wouldn't you?
So how does Lupita do it? Hairstylist Errol Douglas MBE shared his tips for recreating her look, should you have such amazing hair.
"Her short afro hair is tonged in sections, clockwise and anti-clockwise to build in texture (by flicking the wrist each way with a straightener) in an upwards direction. My Treat&Style (available in Boots) works particularly well on afro hair, delivering the straight whilst infusing the hair with Keratin from the capsule system to keep that shine and minimise damage. Gently rake out with each section with fingers (don't brush) and pat to join them. Spray a non-sticky hairspray onto the hands and pat for hold".
We also can't overlook Lupita's style for the Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party where she went all rockabilly with her 'do (see below).
The killer quiff, paired with winged eyeliner flicks, architectural earrings and hot pink lippy is a fine example of how she balances past and future trends. Girl can do no wrong. Congrats.
