He was sporting a clean shaven look when he attended the Golden Globes with girlfriend Stacy Keibler just over three weeks ago.
And since that night George Clooney has taken a break from the shaving cream and razor and has begun to sprout a salt and pepper beard.
The 51-year-old Hollywood heartthrob was seen leaving a dinner with pal and Ocean's Eleven co-star Matt Damon, sporting the rugged facial hair.

Proudly brandishing his more than five o'clock shadow, George looked dapper in a black turtleneck knit, jeans and a suede jacket.
Not far behind him was Damon, who was rugged up for the freezing temperatures in a heavy jacket and beanie hat.

The actor was wearing his glasses and eagerly shook hands with staff members from the famous restaurant, which is situated alongside the Spree river.
Following the late night meal, the pair hopped into an awaiting car together and were seen laughing and kidding around in the backseat.
George and Matt, who have already starred in the Ocean's films together, are in Berlin ahead of shooting for their upcoming movie, The Monuments Men.

The film, which is also written and directed by Clooney, is about a crew of art historians and museum curators who unite to recover renown works of art stolen by Nazis before Hitler destroys them.
The movie has plenty of A-list power behind it, with Daniel Craig, Cate Blanchett and Bill Murray also set to star.
This will be the second movie Clooney has written, directed and starred in - he did the same for Good Night, and Good Luck and The Ides of March.
George's girlfriend Stacy Keibler doesn't appear to be in Germany with her beau.

It is not known whether Damon's wife Luciana Barroso and their four children have joined the Bourne star in the European city.
